On the eve of ‘World Environment Day’ Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation(BMC) and Fortis’ S. L Raheja Hospital hosted cleanliness driv
Every year, the occasion of World Environment Day is attributed to and planned keeping in mind and focusing on concerning factors that are subject to environmental conditions. This years’ theme ‘Connecting people to nature’ has a personalized objective which demonstrates a responsible sentiment towards the environment. The campaign urges people to contribute towards the betterment of the environment and help in maintaining a cleaner and greener surrounding. To commemorate this day, Fortis’ S. L Raheja Hospital, Mahim, joined hands with BMC’s Swachh Mumbai staff to execute a cleanliness drive.
The volunteer groups from BMC and Fortis’ S. L Raheja Hospital volunteered in large numbers to clean the hospital premises, nearby localities and the fisherman’s colony. About 50 employees from the hospital participated in the activity; the participation was highly appreciated by the BMC ward officers who provided the support and led the activity with their support staff of about 50. Residents from nearby communities also joined the cause. This activity is not limited to this day; the hospital continues to frequently conduct cleanliness drives across peripheral areas with local governing bodies, to maintain clean and green environment.
The hospital, through this drive reinforces the belief of being a responsible social stakeholder that values clean environment for the benefit and safety of the society.
