Fortis Gurugram Launches Thalassemia Clinic and Geriatric OPD in Gorakhpur

Gorakhpur, 10th January 2025: Fortis Hospital, Gurugram, inaugurated its dedicated Thalassemia Clinic and Geriatric OPD in Gorakhpur, taking a significant step toward expanding access to specialized healthcare in the region. The launch event, held at City Hospital, Gorakhpur on 12th January 2025, brought together leading experts in Adult & Pediatric Hematology and Geriatric Medicine to mark this milestone.

Prominent clinicians present at the launch included Dr. Rahul Bhargava, Principal Director & Chief - Haematology, Haemato Oncology & Bone Marrow Transplant; Dr. Vikas Dua, Principal Director & Head - Paediatric Haematology, Haemato Oncology & Bone Marrow Transplant; and Dr. Akash Jaiswal, Consultant, Geriatric Medicine.

The Thalassemia Clinic will offer comprehensive care through advanced diagnostic solutions, including genetic testing, alongside personalized treatment options such as blood transfusions, iron chelation therapy, and bone marrow transplantation. The Geriatric OPD, which will operate every second Saturday starting from 12th January 2025, is designed to provide preventive care and rehabilitation tailored to the elderly. With a multidisciplinary approach, it aims to address age-related conditions like dementia, frailty, and chronic diseases, ultimately improving the quality of life for senior citizens. Both initiatives align seamlessly with Fortis Gurugram’s unwavering focus on innovation and excellence in healthcare delivery.
