The contribution by the healthcare workers during the unprecedented COVID-19 crisis remains unparalleled. The journey of the healthcare workers had been the most difficult one, where they worked in the COVID wards for prolonged hours wrapped in the PPE suits. The doctors, nurses, and frontline caregivers along with non-clinical staff have reeled under unrelenting pressure with some of them suffering from severe burnout, some experiencing sleep deprivation but despite all these odds, they have put up a brave fight against the Coronavirus.
Fortis Hospital, Mulund today organized an inspirational talk by Padma Bhushan Param Pujya Jainacharya Vijay Ratnasundersuri Maharaj Saheb to motivate the healthcare workers (HCW) and lift their spirits. The session “Golden Ways of Happiness” was attended by more than 100 HCWs. The initiative was helmed by Dr S. Narayani, Zonal Director, Fortis Hospitals Mumbai along with Ms Rinku Mavani, Business Partner-Sales, Fortis Hospitals Mumbai, with a view to enlighten and empower caregivers on how to handle stress and cope better.
Addressing the audience, Maharaj ji said “Handling mental stress is the key to happiness and dealing with it in a proper way will make life easier. IQ alone cannot be the chariot of success, it needs to be coupled with EQ, clarity of thought. Science along with spiritualism will create a balance in society. These are difficult times for humanity. We need to be united in spirit for us to fight any battle life throws at us. The most common emotion faced by people today is fear which leaves us being anxious, panicky, and can even possibly make us impulsive in our thoughts and actions. Compassion and empathy are the key to a peaceful life.”
"Life is a journey where each day allows us to become a better version of ourselves. The pathway to happiness and well-being lies within us to unlock – helping those around us boosts our happiness. Therefore, we must show our integrity and become an example to society with our acts of kindness however big or small. This session was a way to help our caregivers reflect, rejuvenate their minds and build resilience," he further added.
Following this session, Fortis Hospital Mulund also launched its OPD Pharmacy.
