MUMBAI'S 59TH CADAVERIC DONATION OF 2024 AT S.L. RAHEJA HOSPITAL, MAHIM, ENABLES LIFE-SAVING TRANSPLANTS FOR FOUR RECIPIENTS
Mumbai, December 19, 2024: As the year draws to a close, Mumbai’s 59th and SL Raheja Hospital Mahim’s 2nd cadaveric organ donation marked a new beginning for four waitlisted recipients, today. The cadaveric organ donation and subsequent transplants were made possible by the family of a 23-year-old Mumbaikar, who suffered from a post-traumatic subdural hematoma with subarachnoid hemorrhage, after falling from a moving train, that led to brain death. In the face of this tragedy, the family made the courageous decision to donate the organs, offering hope and a second chance at life to recipients in need. Following the family’s act of kindness, the Zonal Transplant Coordination Centre (ZTCC) assigned the donor’s Liver, Kidneys, and Pancreas to four recipients.
